*Wrestled alligators professionally in the offseason

*Spent his first signing bonus on a drinking binge

*Had a provision in his contract that prohibited him from eating crackers in bed on road trips

First major league at-bat - home run! So what?

Only two players in Major League Baseball history who hit a home run in their first at-bat are in the Hall of Fame. One of them is a pitcher, Hoyt Wilhelm, and that was his only career home run.
